| FINDING A FRONT DOOR August 3 Update I never imagined picking out entry doors for our new home would be so challenging. But I admit that I do enjoy challenges. Front doors are more than just an entry to your house, they often make a statement and are usually the first thing to "welcome" your guests. When designing our house, Athena and I often talked about what a blessing it was to even be able to undertake this venture and we wanted to make sure that our home would point people to God, from whom this blessing came, not to us. After searching for several days on the internet, I finally found our doors. They came out of an old church on Madison Avenue in New York City. Each door features a biblical figure (Solomon and Joshua). When God asked Solomon what he wanted, he asked for wisdom. And because of that request, God also granted him great wealth and power too. Wisdom is often what I pray for. There were two sets of doors in the church. This photo below is of the set that was refinished. We picked the double doors that have not been refinished. Our builder will install them close to the completion of the house. Hopefully they will be a blessing to all who walk through them.
