Romantic Bedroom Remodel |
| Before the birth of baby number two we decided that we needed something larger than our antique full sized bed. I took the opportunity to completely remodel our bedroom to make it a much more romantic atmosphere. Here are a few of the changes that were made (photos below): * I painted the walls a passionate red called Holly Berry (Lowes Home Improvement) and all the trim Ultra-White. * I installed heavy dentil crown molding which makes the room appear more stately and elegant. * We picked out new furniture that had the antique style we liked. It is "The English Harbour Collection" (English Mahogany finish) made by Durham Furniture. We ordered it from Green Front Furniture at a significant discount. * We opted for the Tempur-pedic mattress since we both are prone to backaches. * I had recessed lighting installed to give dramatic lighting and put them on a dimmer
* Purchased two lamps with faux-ostrich
skin shades for the night tables (reminds us our our trip to South
Africa) from Lamps Plus.
* We utilized various flea-market finds that we had elsewhere in the house like the curtains, gold-framed paintings and map prints (again for our love of travel) * Our phone has a CD player so we can put on a favorite romantic CD * The last touch was a liberal amount of candles on the headboard and on the dresser for their romantic glow. And yes, we use them. Here are some photos:
