~~~ From the Editor ~~~
Work on our new woodland garden is progressing. You can read our
weekly house building updates here:
http://www.theromantic.com/homebuilding/main.htm
Since we will be making lots of decorating and gardening decisions in
the coming months, we are scouring through magazines for additional tips
and ideas.
Athena and I would LOVE to have back issues of Traditional Home,
Veranda, House & Garden (and others similar) and any good gardening
magazines. I'll be happy to pay for postage if anyone can send me
some. Shoot me an email with what you have and I will give you the
best mailing address and discuss the payment for shipping.
~~~ Contest ~~~
Last week's contest was "Father's Day Ideas" - how has love
been expressed on the June holiday (June 19 this year).
I only received 3 entries but they were all very good. I will
probably use them as the tip of the week for the next few issues. I
have chosen all 3 to be winners since I am in such a good mood :)
This week's contest is on "Romantic Decorating" - how have you
incorporated decorating into a loving gesture. Maybe it was a project
you did together or perhaps you did something unique as a surprise
using elements that had lots of meaning or thought.
Send your story to tipofweek@aol.com and put "Decorating" in the
subject. Entries must be received by Monday to be eligible to win a
prize of your choice from the prize vault.
TheRomantic.com's ever growing PRIZE VAULT is filled with books,
several board games including Romantic Sensations, An Enchanting
Evening and others, CDs, dance lessons and other fun stuff at

Looks aren't everything in a relationship, but they do count for
something. If you have some extra fat hanging around, maybe you would
like to easily get rid of it to have more energy, confidence and yes,
even more passion. Here are some simple ways to burn the fat.

Oriental Surprise
by Karen Schwausch
http://www.theromantic.com/
My dad served in the National Guard before I was born and was
stationed in Japan for about three years. One year for Father's Day,
we decided to take my dad to "Japan".
When he came home from church, my sister and I, the flight attendants,
ushered him into our bedroom, the airplane, where my brother, the
pilot was waiting. My brother wore my dad's Captain hat. As we
"flew" over the ocean, the pilot pointed out whales swimming below.
My sister and I brought him a drink mid flight.
After we arrived in "Japan" we ate Sweet and Sour Chicken, used my
parents Japanese tea set to drink from, and had Fondue for dessert.
It was one of the most memorable Father's Days we have ever had.
Editors Note: A variation on this idea would make a great romantic date
