Last weeks issue drew the largest number of reader comments I think
I have ever had. If you missed it, you can read it where I keep the

I dont always post the issues immediately but at least every couple

their fantastic first year of marriage.

GIFT OF ADJECTIVES

Not long ago there was a period when when my wife was feeling really
down on herself.  I wrote a list of positive adjectives such as
"beautiful", "thoughtful", "capable", etc.  Then I wrote those
adjectives on small pieces of paper with markers and taped the pieces
of paper on the walls throughout the house, so that she would be
continually reminded of how wonderful she is and how much I love her.
That helped her feel a lot better about herself and it helped us grow
closer as well.

This gave me an idea for her 33rd birthday that was coming up in a few
weeks.  I made a list of 33 of those positive adjectives and emailed
them to her relatives and friends with a request to pick at least one
of those adjectives that they feel properly describes my wife.  I
asked them to include a specific experience/memory to illustrate that
adjective if possible.

I sent the email about a month before her birthday so people would
have plenty of time to respond.  I ended up getting over 60 responses.
Then I compiled those responses into a document, along with my own
thoughts about all 33 of those adjectives.  I printed the document
onto "fancy" paper and put it into a booklet that I bought at Staples.
I presented the booklet to her on the morning of her birthday.  She
really loves it and has still been browsing through it a month after I
gave it to her.
