~~~ From the Editor ~~~
Want to know what I have been doing the last few days? Searching
for some unique front doors for our new home under construction. I
have visited literally 100s of website and have searched far and
wide for the perfect doors. Athena really wanted something that was
arched or gothic in style. I wanted them to be unique and tell a
story.
If you want to see the doors I finally discovered and bought, check
it out here: http://www.theromantic.com/homebuilding/main.htm
And be sure to check out the update on the Love Poem contest below -
you can win $100.
Have a happy week. -- Michael
Recently I was getting *very* frustrated with how slow my computer
was. I have DSL so I knew something was wrong. I found out that I
had all sorts of spyware and adware that had been put on my computer
simply from surfing the web. As soon as I deleted them my computer
was blazing fast again. Here is how to see how much spyware and
adware is on your computer: http://www.theromantic.com/spyware.htm
~~~ Contest ~~~
Last week's contest was on "Love Poems". You know the saying
*everyone is a poet*. I thought I would get a lot of entries, but
most would be bad. I was really surprised and how wonderful the
submissions have been.
So, what I am doing is posting about 20 of the entries each week,
and you, my readers, will pick a weekly winner. Go here to read
this weeks collection and vote for your favorite.
http://www.theromantic.com/love_poems/main.htm
To vote (all who vote are entered into a drawing to win a weekly
prize too), send an e-mail to: tipofweek@aol.com and put "vote" in
the subject line.
At the end of the contest (when all poems have been posted), I will
repost all the weekly winners, who will then compete for the grand
prize of a $100 Barnes & Noble gift certificate (or if the winner is
from overseas I will have a prize of equal value).
Because of this change in the contest, I will open up entries for
one more week. So, you can submit up to 3 of your poems about love
(nothing vulgar please) for this contest.
Send your poem to tipofweek@aol.com and put "poem" in the
subject line. Must receive the submission by Monday to be entered.
TheRomantic.com's ever growing PRIZE VAULT is filled with books,
several board games including Romantic Sensations, An Enchanting
Evening and others, CDs, dance lessons and other fun stuff at

One of the most gut-wrenching experiences I have is when I hear of
two good friends who have decided to get divorced. These two people
were once madly in love and for various reasons, they now think they
should go their separate ways. Perhaps you too are facing that
situation.
What is most frustrating is that the marriage could probably be
saved and flourishing one again if they just knew how to fix it.
Here are some tips: http://www.theromantic.com/savethemarriage.htm
P.S. I don't advocate staying in an abusive relationship at all, or
necessarily trying to fix it (most abusers will never change).

Computer Romance
by Michael Webb
http://www.TheRomantic.com/
You obviously know a little bit about how to use a computer since
you receive this newsletter. Now, lets put the computer to some
romantic work. Here are just a few ideas.
* Change the screen saver to a marquee that has a loving message
* If you have a microphone, you may be able to change or add greetings
that will sound whenever your wife logs on or off the computer or
does some other function.
* Create a love letter on the computer and send your wife on a computer
scavenger hunt to try to find it.
* Scan a photograph of you and your wife to be used as the wallpaper
on your computer.
* Create notes all throughout your system and name them with file names
such as iloveyou or lookhere so they will catch her eye and she will
open them.
