All of my family live about 30-50 miles north of New Orleans. I finally heard from my mom on Tuesday night. They can not drink the water and have been told to be prepared to be without electricity for up to a month. Fortunately there was no damage to her home, just trees in the yard. You can read below how I am trying to help families who didn't fare so well as mine did. Have a thankful week. -- Michael ................................................................ ~~~ It's the Little Things ~~~ Writing your name as "_____'s beloved" or "____'s best friend" on name tags or places where it will be seen by others. ................................................................ ~~~ Sponsor ~~~ *Michael Webb's Fundraiser for Hurricane Victims* This week I am setting up a fundraiser for disaster relief for victims of hurricane Katrina. I will donate 50% from all the sales of the collection of my writings to families in need down in southern Louisiana. Since I have a personal connection to the tragedy, I will distribute the funds through my own Love One Another Foundation so that 100% of the monies raised will actually go to help those in need. Make your purchase by September 6 to help. http://www.theromantic.com/collection.htm Or, if you would just rather make a direct donation, you can go here: http://www.theromantic.com/foundationdonate.htm ................................................................ ~~~ Contest ~~~ As most of you know, I am running a several week contest where I post about 20 love poems each week that have already been submitted for the contest (not accepting any more). Each week, you subscribers will vote on your favorite in the new batch. At the end of the contest I will put all the weekly winners together and you will vote for your favorite among those. That final winner will win a $100 Barnes and Noble gift certificate. Each week the poem winner will win a trip to the prize vault as well as one person from all those who cast a vote in that weeks contest. Last week, the winning poem was "I Thought About You Tonight". I have posted the next 20 poems on the love poems page: http://www.theromantic.com/love_poems/main.htm Please pick your favorite from among the top 20 listed. To vote (all who vote are entered into a drawing to win a weekly prize too), send an e-mail to: tipofweek@aol.com and put "vote" in the subject line and in the body of the email tell me your favorite. TheRomantic.com's ever growing PRIZE VAULT is filled with books, several board games including Romantic Sensations, An Enchanting Evening and others, CDs, dance lessons and other fun stuff at http://www.theromantic.com/prizes.htm ................................................................ ~~~ Sponsor ~~~ I received so many rave reviews about this last week, I thought I would run it again this week: A new collection of bedroom games: * A brand new way to play with a deck of cards that will bring about amazing climaxes * Blindfolds and food always make for great lovemaking - this game puts new twists on the concept * Turn watching that football, basketball or baseball game into an erotic romp. Both of you will be cheering on the teams in a new and surprising way with this game * A twist on an old bar game that will bring burning passions to your loins - and everyone wins at this game Read all 100 games here: http://www.theromantic.com/100games.htm ............................................................... ~~~ Tip of the Week ~~~ Garage Surprise by Rich O. http://www.TheRomantic.com/ My wife always puts her car in the garage after work. I plan on creating a special message on an old bed sheet with spray paint. Then I am going to mount in to the bottom of the garage door from the inside. When she hits her garage door opener from the outside, she will see her special message appear as the door opens. Editor's note: You can also do this surprise by attaching balloons, banners or streamers to the bottom of the garage door. ....................................................................
