~~~ From the Editor ~~~
Athena and I have just about finished wheel barrowing around one
dump truck load of dirt/compost mix and two dump trucks of mulch
for
our gardens. Creating a beautiful, romantic garden takes a lot
of
planning, creativity, work and effort -- just like a
relationship.
I promise I'll share some updated photos of the gardens soon.
Have a blossoming week. -- Michael
I am impressed.
I am not often impressed.
I just read tips and ideas from Andrea and Nancy on how
over-weight women can be dynamite in bed (or in the pool and
other
places). How they can be large and really sensual. Wow! Great
stuff.
If you consider yourself overweight or you are married to a lady
who
is, you HAVE to read this. It will forever change you and your
relationship. -- Michael
Last night Athena and I went to Lone Star Steak House. For
several
years we have been dining there about once a month because we
get
paid to do so.
We have to order something to drink, soup or a salad, entrees
and a
dessert to split. When we go home I go to a website and rate
how
the meal and service was. And I get reimbursed up to $75 for
the
meal. Feedback is so crucial to businesses that millions are
spent
each year paying people like myself to go to the business and
secretly rate them.
The company that offers me this particular opportunity also have
about 10 other restaurants I could do the same for each month.
If
you live near a town with chain stores then there are likely to
be
openings for you to do. You can check it out here:
~~~ Tip of the Week ~~~
More Than Words
by Michael Webb
http://www.TheRomantic.com/Finally. Athena went away for
the weekend. It s not that
I was getting tired of her -- I just needed a few hours alone to
create a special gift for her.
I m sure most of you have seen the magnetic poetry kits at
gift
shops. They contain a hundred or so individual words with
magnetic
backing that can be arranged to create refrigerator poetry. I
think
they are a great idea, however, I wanted to make a set that was
more
personalized.
First I went to the office supply store and purchased a pack of
25 magnetic backs for business cards. They cost about $5.00. I
measured the magnetic pieces and created the appropriate margins
in
my word processing program.
Then I began typing. I put in over two hundred poetry words
like:
stars, flicker, moonlight, touch, gentle, etc. Then I added
personalized words such as: Athena, Michael, travel, best,
friend,
sweetheart, cutest, girl - and other nicknames and words that
would
have special meaning to the two of us. Of course I included
liberal
amounts of : a, an, the, I, and, but -- and suffixes and
prefixes
like: s, ed, pre, sub, extra, ly, ing -- and so on.
I printed out all the words and then placed them on top of
20 of the magnets. Then, I used clear shelving paper and placed
it
on top of the paper for a protective layer. I used a razor
utility
knife and scissors to cut the words apart.
Then I rummaged up a little box and put all the pieces inside.
I created a label on the computer that said More Than Words
and put it on the box. It was ready to greet Athena when she
came
back from her trip.
By now, some of you are saying that sure does sound like a
lot of
work to me. I don t have any spare time to do anything like
that. The whole project probably took me about 3 or 4 hours.
It
is true that you probably don t have the time in one sitting
to
create this. However, if you took 10 to 15 minutes of your
lunch
break every day, you could have it done in a couple of weeks.
If it still seems overwhelming for you, you can always buy the
romance edition of the Magnetic Poetry at gift stores. It wont
be personal, but it still is a nice gift.
