~~~ From the Editor ~~~
I had a goal to have 100,000 subscribers by the end of 2005. I get
about 100 new subscribers a day, but unfortunately I lose about
3,000 subscribers each month, mainly from those whose email
addresses are no longer valid so growth is actually flat. Currently
I have about 85,000 subscribers.
To help me meet my goal, please share this resource with your
friends and I'd love any great ideas that any of you might have.
Have a precious week. -- Michael
I was tired of seeing friends and family get married to people they
barely knew, even though they dated quite a while (and later got
divorced). So, I put together over 1000 questions that every couple
MUST ask each other at some point in their relationship (hopefully
before engagement).
Studies have shown that couples that know each other on this level
are 83% less likely to have the problems that lead to divorce. Here
are the questions: http://www.theromantic.com/questions.htm
~~~ Contest ~~~
Last weeks contest was ROMANCE WITH CANDLES. How have you (or
someone else) used candles in a uniquely romantic way?
I received a lot of wonderful stories but have not been able to put
them on the website yet. I will announce the winner of that contest
next week.
This week's contest is super easy. Everyone can enter. Simply tell
me the month and the year that this newsletter began.
To enter this weeks contest, send an e-mail to: tipofweek@aol.com
and put the answer in the subject line and in the body of the email
give me your name and location.
Four correct answers will win a trip to the prize vault.
TheRomantic.com's ever growing PRIZE VAULT is filled with books,
several board games including Romantic Sensations, An Enchanting
Evening and others, CDs, dance lessons and other fun stuff at

What's the Ransom?
by Cassandra Carney
http://www.TheRomantic.com/
For my husband's 32nd birthday, I kidnapped him from work,
blindfolded him with a silk scarf, put him in the car and we went
for a drive. I had previously arranged a candlelight dinner and one
night's stay at our favorite Bed and Breakfast there in the same
town where we live.
I drove all around town through back roads, even on the highway
briefly to confuse him. He had no idea we were still in the town.
I parked down the block and walked him down the sidewalk, in front
of neighbors and all. He still had no idea.
The innkeeper took pictures of me escorting him upstairs. There he
found a homemade dinner for two. He said that was his best birthday
yet. What touched him the most was the time I spent in preparation,
not a bunch of expensive additives, just me and my time.
