Romantic Tip of the Week November 18 Is the only time you spend with your sweetheart during the work week, those few hours after coming home from work and before going to bed? And are those hours taken up by fixing dinner, doing chores and running errands? If at all possible, do lunch with your love. Fortunately, my wife and I worked for the same corporation for many years and we were able to have lunch together several times a week. It was great to connect in the middle of the day and just talk. Sometimes we talked about things we needed to do at home or talked about work but often we just talk about fun things. We discussed what we wanted to do with our lives, the kind of dream home we would like to have and what we thought about different world issues. On top of that, nearly every afternoon around 3 o'clock Athena would come up to my office for a 15 minute afternoon break and I would make us each a cup of hot tea and would usually have a couple of cookies or a piece of candy there too. She referred to them as her afternoon "treats." It was a special time we looked forward to every day. Of course, most couples do not work in such close proximity to be able to have an afternoon break together, but many couples could certainly get together for lunch more often than they do. If you don't have time (or the money) to go to a restaurant for lunch, brown bag it. If it’s not possible to meet for lunch have a "phone date" at lunch. Even ten minutes talking on the phone at lunch will make a marked improvement in each of your afternoons. The next time either of you complain that you don’t get to spend enough quality time together, suggest, "let’s do lunch." .................................................................
