My fiancé, Enon, and I have been very busy with trying to start a new business and plan a wedding while continuing to work our full-time stressful jobs as a traveling consultant and equities trader. It seemed as if we never had time for each other, let alone our friends and family.

Enon's birthday was approaching and I could tell that he was disappointed that our schedules would not allow us to spend Thanksgiving with his family and friends in North Carolina whom he had not seen since the early part of the year (we live in Florida). So I decided to give him a little surprise...

The month before his birthday, I sent out a mass email to all his friends and family asking them to participate in a birthday collage for Enon. They could write a poem, send a birthday card, pictures, or any other memento that was symbolic of their relationship with Enon. Every week I sent out an
update and reminder to everyone. 

I was amazed at the positive feedback that I received! I received mini-collages from his family of photos that were cut and pasted into the shape of a heart, emails that were personalized to Enon wishing him a happy birthday, pictures, cards, and several poems from some of his closest male friends.

I took all the items received and pasted them into one of the jumbo cards you can find at Hallmark. Coincidentally I found a card that had many different faces on the front with a greeting that said, "We all wanted to get together to sing you happy birthday... aren't you glad we gave you this card instead!" 

The day of Enon's birthday, I gave him the card packed full of special greetings and wishes from the people that love him the most. It was great! Enon said it was the best gift anyone had ever given him.
