The first Christmas with my new love was a tough one - because we had just met in September, I didn't know what to get him that wouldn't be so intimate as to scare him and yet still tell him how much I appreciated him and how hard I had fallen for him... 

I decided to make a quilt - I used scraps and remnants I had (I even cut up some of the clothes my son and I couldn't wear anymore). He's a farmer so I asked him if he had any old jeans he couldn't wear anymore (under the guise of needing patches for my son's pants).

I pieced everything together, sewed like mad and purchased the batting and fabric backing for $15.00... 

Nothing could replace the look on his face when he opened his quilt - or the look on mine when he told me how much it meant to him that my love would always keep him warm and cozy.
