THE MOUSE HOUSE

Submitted by: Sarah Elizabeth Dittmann

One day during the summer, my boyfriend decided to take me on a little trip, but he wouldn't tell me where we were going.  I finally  bugged him enough that he said, "We're going to DisneyWorld."

Well, we live in Kansas City, so I was a bit confused.  I knew we couldn't actually be going to DisneyWorld, being that we are both poor college students.  After a bit more driving, we ended up at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, where they were holding an exhibition on....DisneyWorld!

I have been an avid Disney fanatic since I was very little, and I was extremely happy and surprised by our destination.  After we explored all the original layouts and art from the park, we went to look at the impressionist paintings (which I also love) before heading home for the evening.  Not only was the experience wonderful and thoughtful, it was also free, which is a very good thing for those of us who are extremely short on cash.

I still have the brochure from the Disney exhibition as a nice memento of a very nice day spent with my boyfriend.
