I once asked a guy to a baseball game between our state's two major universities (who of course are big rivals).  I went to a paper store in town and bought an 8X10 sheet of paper with a baseball theme border.  In the center of the paper I typed an invitation using: WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, and WHY.  I mailed it to his house along with a reply card (postcard size- addressed to me and stamped) which was also decorated in a baseball theme (bought at the same store).  On the reply card, I typed :

YES

NO

with a box beside each for him to check his response.  Of course he went, we had a good time, and I even got complimented by his sister on my thoughtfulness.
