My partner & I spent our first Christmas together in Europe where we bought a commemorative crystal Christmas ornament from Swarovski. Swarovski releases a different snowflake every Christmas and it is marked with the year of release.

Since then, we have made it our mission to buy the ornament every year. Every Christmas we get to add another gorgeous Christmas Snowflake to our tree, and every year the tree sparkles a little more!

 

Friends of ours thought this was a great tradition but couldnt afford the crystal ornaments we buy. Instead, as they prepare their house for Christmas, they each blow an egg, decorate it and mark it with the year. Their tree too is now covered in brightly coloured reminders of their journey together.
