My husband and I were married last November and we are avid wine lovers.  We have been saving the corks from the bottles of wine and champagne we drank together for many years (while we were dating as well).  On some of the corks, we have written the occasion we consumed the wine "New Year's Eve 2000," "First night of honeymoon in Jamaica 2003", etc.  We took the corks that we have amassed, and strung them together with needle and fishing wire to make our very own Christmas garland for our Christmas tree.  We are still saving our corks to wrap around our Christmas tree in the many years to come.
