WHAT'S IN MY ROOM?

Submitted by: Melissa Blaylock

I remember the second time my boyfriend Shaun and I went out. We weren't going out yet, just friends. It was around 9 or 9:30 p.m, and we went to the beach. We were just sitting there, when he said, "There's a shooting star. Make a wish." So I made a wish. A little while later,  I saw one. I told him to make a wish also.

He brought me home around eleven, and asked me if my wish came true. I said, "No, not yet." When he got home, I called him. We bugged each other about our wishes, but neither of us would tell. So we decided to play a game.

We had only been inside each others rooms once before, so the game was a game of observation skills. We would ask each other a question about something in the room, but try to make it as difficult as possible. For every right answer you get a point, and every wrong one, you lose a point.  We had to set a limit to the scores, so we said, "The first one to get to thirty points."

I ended up loosing the game,  and was extremely scared to tell him what I had wished for. After a long silence I told him that I really liked him, and I wanted to be with him. I was terrified. He said that he had wished the same thing, and was also scared to tell me. We have been together now for a year and a half, and it has been the best year and a half of my life.
