On our 20th wedding anniversary we wanted to try something new.  We had lived in New York State for many years and had never visited the wineries near the Finger Lakes.  So my husband took the day off from work, and we ventured out.  Never having done any "wine tasting" before, it was a new and exciting experience for both of us.  We found the owners of the wineries very friendly and very willing to teach us.  We had an absolutely wonderful time. Since that day we have attended wine tasting dinners, a wine tasting course at our local community college and we continue to visit different wineries each time we go up to the Finger Lakes.  What has made this such a fun hobby is that neither one of us had an advantage over the other in "knowledge" - so we are learning and discovering together!
