BLUE LIGHT SPECIAL Submitted by: Sharon Walker
My son had recently recovered
from a serious auto accident. He
broke his back and neck in 5
places, broke his sternum and
knee and was very lucky to be
living. He recovered in record
time. His then girlfriend
helped take care of him as he
was very critical when I brought
him home from the Vanderbilt
trauma unit and it was a 24/7
job. She showed the most
compassion for any young person
I have met in a long time.
After weeks of care and lot of
love, my son decided to propose
to her. Due to his accident,
Jeff has not been able to work
or finish school yet. He had to
think of a creative way to
propose on a $0 dollar budget.
His girlfriend is a wonderful
girl with great morals and
values. Her downfall is her red
sports car. She has to pay
close attention to her led foot
and not get a ticket. Because
my son is "young and poor" and
he wanted to get the proposal on
video without her knowing it as
a gift later on he decided to
ask the county Sheriff's Office
if they would help. He asked if
they would take him to the
interstate and pull her over
when she went by on her way home
from work. They agreed. After
she got off of work, they were
hiding on the interstate, waited
for her to drive by, turned on
the lights and siren and pulled
her over.
Krisiin's first thought was to
ditch the cop before he caught
up to her. Well, have we not
all thought of that idea at one
time or another? Before she
realized it they were on her
bumper. She pulled over and the
Sheriff came to her window. The
whole time she was thinking that
she was being careful not to
speed. She asked him was was
the matter and he said that
someone reported her as driving
recklessly. Then he asked her
to get out of the car. Now she
is thinking sobriety test and
she does not drink. He said she
would have to sit in the back of
the police vehicle for safety
reasons why he checked her
license.
Jeffrey was in between the two
cars on his knee with the
engagement ring. When she saw
him she stood there with her
mouth hanging wide open
wondering what in the heck he
was doing on his knee and why
was he behind the car. He
proposed to her and the entire
time the police video camera was
on and he was wearing a police
microphone recording the entire
event. The entire engagement
from the blue lights to the "Yes
I will" was captured forever.
It may not be the most romantic
way to propose, but one of the
most creative was. She was
so caught off guard that he
proposed to her. Later he took
her out to a romantic dinner and
gave her the video to view every
anniversary to come.
