Romantic Riddles, Puzzles and Clues |
| SECRET ADMIRER Submitted by: Nancy
Last year, I broke up with my boyfriend for a little while to get
some time to myself. Things were just loading up on me and I needed
the time to sort things out. Once I did clear things up, however, I
wanted to find out a romantic but different way to ask him out.
Since I was quite talented in handwritings, I tried to make up a
handwriting that I knew he wouldn't recognize and pretended to
be a "secret admirer." I stuck little love notes in random
places that I knew he would find like on his car windshield, his
mailbox, etc. I even put the letters on pink stationary and
decorated it with lots of heart stickers to throw him off, as he
knew I wasn't a very girly girl type of person. I also knew he
was used to my writing style by then, so I just found love
letters, love poems, and love quotes online.
Then, I made a "treasure map" for him to find out who his
"secret admirer" was, sending him to various places (each of
them drawn on the map of course). At each of the places he got
another love letter and a clue to where the next clue was to be
found. Finally, the "X" marked the spot where, in the last
clue, I told him to meet me at a specific time. Hoping I threw
him off enough, I even dared to set the meeting place at our
special park we always went to and had our first date at.
Even though we had broken up for that short period of time, we
were still very good friends. I remember he would talk about
this "secret admirer" nonstop and kept on asking me if I knew
any person who had those characteristics. Then when he got to
the last clue he almost went crazy wondering whether this girl
would be nice, funny, pretty, etc. Imagine his surprise when he
saw me walking up to him in the park clutching his very last
"secret admirer" note. He read my long note where at the very
bottom I asked him if we could be together again and he just
hugged me and said that he was so glad to have seen me at the
park.
It has only been one year since then, but the list of all the
things we love and admire about each other grows every day. I
believe now that in reality, I had always been his "secret
admirer" and we are truly each others "secret admirers."
