My husband, being the industrious man that he is, replaced all of the upstairs windows himself.  He then left notes written on the windows with soap such as I love you.  However it took quite some time before the drywall on the inside was completed. (the new windows were smaller than the old)  The drywall itself was up but it required mudding and painting.  We used a light colored marker and wrote little love messages to each other on the exposed drywall board.  Looking at them every day lifted our spirits rather than reminding us of a chore undone and now that they are finished, our love notes have become a part of the house that love built.
